The best time to visit Shwedagon Paya is early morning which allows you to walk around in the cool Yangon breeze or late afternoon closer to sunset to see the magnificent evening sunrays beaming off the golden pagodas.

Dress code: Shwedagon Paya is a religious location so all visitors have to be well-covered. No sleeveless and clothing must be below the knees. Why not try on a longyi? Fits into the dress code and it's cooling in the warm weather in Yangon!
