Located about 15km east of Mandalay sits Pyin Oo Lwin, or formerly known to the British as a hill station. Pyin Oo Lwin was the summer hillside resort to escape the sweltering summer heat.
Deeply influenced by its previous residents, Pyin Oo Lwin has numerous colonial structures which gives its the rustic and old colonial charm.
Make a visit to the National Kandawgyi Gardens and this massive botanical garden features many species of plants, flowers and trees. The botanical compound spans a massive area and be prepared to walk up to 2 hours to cover the entire area.
Take breaks when you have to and listen to the roar of the rushing waterfalls and feel the cooling water spray on your cheeks.
